Hello!

Sooo why am I going on the World Race? I’ve gone back and forth trying to answer this in a simple way, and what I’ve come up with is that it’s what I feel God is calling me to do. I’ve had a heart for mission work my whole life. Growing up in a family where serving and loving others is a top priority gave me the opportunity to experience the blessings of mission work at a young age. On every mission trip I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in, international or domestic, I learn so much about God’s character and what he has called us to do: love others!

Like many people my age, I often find myself trying to plan out every detail of my future, and I’ve discovered that the more I try to control my life, the more anxious I become. It’s been hard for me to accept that I can’t plan  out everything about my future because I don’t like feeling not in control of what my life will look like. Even though I was terrified, I chose to surrender to what God is putting on my heart. You might think that going on a 9-month mission trip is a little crazy, it’s definitely not “the norm” for a 19 year old BUT I feel like some of the best decisions take a leap of faith.

I am so fortunate to have been shown God’s love throughout my life and cannot wait to share His love with others. I’m so ready and excited for all the lessons the Lord is going to teach me during these 9 months! Thankyou for taking the time to read my first blog post! More entries to come as I continue to prepare for this journey!  I really appreciate your support 🙂

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13
